Presentamos el SUPERMAN NO.34 de mayo-junio 1943, junto con su edición especial para la Marina de los Estados Unidos. Lógicamente las portadas son las mismas y sólo varía en los créditos de la parte alta del cuaderno.
De 1944 a 1945, se hizo una edición especial para la Marina de los Estados Unidos de América compuesta de seis números que reproducían el 80 y 81 de 'ACTION COMICS', el 33 de 'SUPERMAN', el 97 de 'DETECTIVE COMICS', el 34 de 'SUPERMAN' y el 84 de 'ACTION COMICS'.
En el ejemplar que presentamos, SUPERMAN NO.34, en la primera aventura titulada 'THE UNITED STATES NAVY!', vemos a Clark Kent de corresponsal de guerra del Daily Planet a bordo de un destructor que se dirige en busca de la flota japonesa. En él encuentra a uno de los tres amigos que habían jugado fútbol en el mismo equipo. Uno está con él en el destructor, el otro pilota un avión y el tercero es el torpedero de un submarino. En la aventura se encuentran los tres luchando finalmente contra la flota japonesa.
La segunda aventura es de las cortas de 4 páginas que se publicaban en la colección de SUPERMAN en esa época bajo el título de 'LOIS LANE GIRL REPORTER'; la tercera aventura es una en la que Lois intenta descubrir que Clark y Superman son la misma persona, se titula 'THE CANYON THAT WENT BERSEK!. Finalmente, en la cuarta aventura, titulada 'WHEN THE WORLD GOT TIRED!', Superman se enfrenta de nuevo a Lex Luthor. Todo el cuaderno está dibujado por el equipo de Jerry Siegel y Joe Shuster.
We present SUPERMAN NO.34 MAY-JUN 1943, and its special edition for the U.S. Navy. Logically the covers are the same except for the credits above.
In 1944 and 1945 it was made a Special Edition for the U.S. Navy with six issues: 80 and 81 from 'ACTION COMICS', 'SUPERMAN NO.33', 'DETECTIVE COMICS NO.97', 'SUPERMAN NO.34' and 'ACTION COMICS NO.84'.
In the issue we present here, SUPERMAN NO.34, the first adventure entitled 'THE UNITED STATES NAVY!', we see Clark Kent as war corresponsal for the Daily Planet, aboard a destroyer that is looking for the Japanese fleet. Clark finds three friends who played football with him in the same team. The first one is with him in the destroyer, the second one piloting a plane and the third one as torpedoman in a submarine. At the end, the four friends fight against the Japaneses.
The second adventure is a four pages 'LOIS LANE GIRL REPORTER', tipical in that age. The third one is entitled 'THE CANYON THAT WENT BERSEK!' in which Lois Lane tries to find Superman's secret identity, and in the fourth adventure, Superman fights against Lex Luthor. All the issue is drawn by the Jerry Siegel and Joe Shusters' team.
